Like all news there’s good and bad, some of you who have been waiting patiently for our long lost shipment of long sleeve shirts will have received your long awaited orders by now. For this I apologize but we have been keeping our shirt mogul unusually busy these past few years with promotional shirts for Friday the 13th, 2 events in 2007 and also here in 2008 adding the Canadian Biker Build Off as well.
He is an incredibly busy guy to begin with and to add nearly 4000 shirts to the workload not to mentions support shirts I am sure that it has been trying for him and a bit of a work overload. The reason I write this is that since we recently shipped out the latest orders to our readers there have been significant increases in the costs of postage and courier service.
Therefore we are raising the pricing of our mail order shirts by $5 across the board to help offset the near doubling of the mailing rates. All of our pricing still includes postage, handling, and of
course the taxes (this is after all Ontario). Thanks to all who waited patiently for their shirts and
with any luck we will be more on top of the shirt inventory in future years to ensure that we can provide more timely delivery. We do take credit cards these days so ordering up a support shirt is as easy as giving us a call and we can get a shirt out right away upon credit authorization.
The hardbounds are coming as well, we thought we had lost our bindery and all the plates that are used to emboss the hard covers with our logos, but a lack of due diligence leads to the embarrassing conclusion that they didn’t close down just moved, so we are sending in both volumes 8 and 9 for bindery. Obviously a little late but trying to get enough copies of the 20 different issues that make up these two volumes turned out to be a real challenge and for the time being we have absolutely no Volume 9 #7 magazines left anywhere.
If one of you far flung distributors in Ontario happen to have any of this issue kicking around that are not damaged or faded from direct sunlight we would like to hear from you, the date on the cover is Sept/Oct 07 the book is blue and has a blue 64 Panhead on the cover and a lovely lady with curly blonde hair sitting on the bike.
We will no longer be able to offer complete sets of Volume 9 until we can locate some copies of this issue of the mag, we are looking for 10 to 20 copies in good condition, so readers please don’t dig into your personal collections although the sentiment is appreciated. Distributors please look through your stash if you hang onto all the old books this one is only 1 year old as of the date of this issue so please check, we did manage to find enough to run our hardbounds but no loose copies at all.
Having said that we have been consistently reducing the number of old mags that we carry as they age, fade and get damaged. Frankly I am surprised it took this long to run out of a magazine with well over 100 issues printed over the past 10 years but the reality is that the really old stuff will eventually disappear forever. If you are a collector make sure you fill in the holes while we still have them.
We do currently have all hardbounds available and they are a great keepsake, and as the older mags become scarcer they keep going up in price. Thanks to all of you for your support over the years and we look forward to many more to come and of course lots more free event shirts in the years to come, for this you can thank our sponsors.
On a final note for the month we find ourselves once again short on sportsters for feature bikes with yet another cancellation we are scrambling to stay on top of our feature shoot obligations. We will be running around this fall getting our winter and spring 09 shoots out of the way and we will be hitting the road this coming april with a southwest trip to do shoots and if we get enough bikes in eastern Ontario a trip out that way as well, if you have a sporty feel free to submit it as a feature bike, if you want your bike in the mag no matter what category it falls into you need to get it on one of our lists then be patient, thanks to all for your support see you out there on the road.
